Find your Joy this Christmas!
This year, in particular, I’m hearing people say that they are finding it difficult to find the joy in Christmas, particularly when so much chaos exists in our world. We can all see that these are unprecedented times in our country, as well as around the world. Nothing seems to be ‘normal,’ and each new day seems to bring a new level of insanity, untold levels of cruelty and destruction. Our founding principles, our constitution, seems more unrecognizable with each passing day, as it’s often disregarded for political purpose, control and power.
Our America appears to be more divided than ever, as relationships are challenged with our neighbors, friends and often our own families. Gone are the civilized discussions over a holiday beverage or meal. Various topics are often best avoided entirely to keep the peace. Will we see a united path forward? Why can’t we recognize that our individual and collective free will, along with the freedom of thought and expression extends to each and every one of us?
How do we find hope?
It’s likely a good time to remind readers what I said in my very first Reflections post (onyourjourney.life/reflections-welcome): Essentially these posts are a reflection of my opinions and beliefs regarding our human existance, our life paths, our genesis within the Spiritual Universe, and our place in the whole of it. In writing these posts, I rely on my intuition, and my beliefs based on my ‘old soul’ wisdom.
Every reader should always discern what reality is for them, and what they are willing to believe, or not. It’s understandable and perfectly okay to believe or not believe what I say. I simply hope that as you read these On Your Journey posts, you allow yourself to be open to the ‘possibilities’ of recognizing that within our human experiences there is a correlation and relationship with our spiritual selves and the Universe at large. Nothing happens without the spiritual world being present. And, nothing is ever impossible.
With that…would you be surprised that we ‘signed up’ to experience the historic chaos we are experiencing at this very moment in time? I’ve intuitively known for years that I agreed to be here during this time. I also have full trust and faith that what we are experiencing is a part of a divine plan that will ultimately be of tremendous benefit to mankind for centuries to follow.
There are many respected intuitives who have spoken of the fact that humanity is in the process of going through a 30-year ‘reset.’ (Wait! 30 years!) Many call this the ‘ascension’ process, others look forward to the ‘second coming.’ In simplest terms this is a reawakening of our own consciousness to who we really are as eternal spiritual beings and our place in the universe. The ‘veil’ of forgetfulness that we enter human life with is being lifted as we gain more and more awareness of our connection to all things.
As this process progresses, we will also be moving from a patriarchal form of government to a more compassionate, individually empowered, heart-centered form of life. Ultimately, the people will have more individual power, while the wealthiest minority who tend to control governments now, will have less control. It truly will be ‘power to the people!’ We will see kinder, gentler leaders who will listen to the people and understand the people’s wants. We will see more people helping their neighbors and caring even more for others. The Truth in all things in life will be on display for all to see. It is an exciting time to be alive.
A Few Steps to Bring Joy into Each Day
Today I Choose:
Peace! Joy! Love!
So how do you find your own joy? Try these simple steps to navigate your way towards a joyful holiday season, while mitigating personal and economic fears, despite any level of inhumanity on display.
- Recognize and have hope that we will make it through this time period. And, maybe change your perspective of what you are witnessing. Trust that this is a phase that will bring better times for everyone.
- Meditate and breathe! Walk in nature. Dance. Garden. Laugh. Establish a daily practice that works for you. Even 15 minutes a day will make a difference. Not a meditator? Find an activitity that you are passionate about that allows your mind to calm.
- Limit the amount of time you spend watching news channels or other sources that trigger negative emotions. Remember, mass media intentionally seeks to sensationalize the news to create viewership.
- Recognize that those with different beliefs and viewpoints than your own are simply walking their own life path. Allow them the grace to learn their own life lessons at their own pace.
- Show compassion and empathy. Practice forgiveness. Smile at strangers. Be the light in others life.
- Stop thinking about ‘sides’ in the discussion, because ultimately there is only one side where we all basically want the same things in life.
- For those following the tenets of the Christian faith, incorporate the teaching of the Golden Rule especially when it tries your patience. Every good deed goes a long way towards the peace and happiness of others, and ultimately yourself.
And as always, be OPEN to new ways of thinking; and suspend disbelief.
Let’s imagine what Jesus might say this Christmas
During the holidays, take a minute or two to be fully present to the real reason we celebrate. No, it’s not the shopping and sharing of presents, it’s the celebration of the birth of the Christ Child for Christians, or Hannukah’s celebration of the triumph of light over darkness, and freedom of oppression.
I like to imagine what Jesus might relate to us as a Christmas message. Here’s my take on what he might say (time for an open frame of mind…):
As you prepare to celebrate my own incarnation into human form, and my years walking among you on Earth, I want to remind you that your own life is as precious as my own. We are all rightly children of God. While mankind has made much of my own lifetime on Earth, as well as the teachings that I brought to bear of our heavenly Father, and our rightful place alongside Him, you are equally worthy of your own place of eternal glory.
We are all of the Divine Essence. Your Earthly life is your time to experience a life that we simply cannot fathom except in our truest sense as spiritual beings. Despite the challenges you face in life, in all ways you remain perfect reflections of the unconditional love that you call heaven. Your earthly life is your chance to experience all that the human world has to offer, and to appreciate the power of our eternal beingness. Take time during this holiday season to allow a connection to form with your own divinity. Remember your own loving power, and turn your attention into actionable love for all people who walk this planet with you.
No one is less than in the eyes of our Source Creator, God. My hope and wish remains for you to personally discover the Truth and Love that remains your ‘eternal birthright’ especially as you experience human life. Spread the joy of that love with all you encounter in your day-to-day lives, for we all emanate from, and are always One with our God, Source Creator. I will continue to shine my eternal love and light upon you, as do all the enlightened beings who have walked similar paths to my own. I stand beside you always as you navigate your own life path.
My Holiday Wish for You!
This holiday, whether Christmas, Hannukah, or Kwanzaa, my personal wish for you and your families is that you experience an overflowing sense of peace, joy and love. I hope you find yourself surrounded by family and friends, and that you take comfort in an overwhelming sense of trust that a bright future lays ahead for all of us, one that extends throughout the coming new year, and into the years to come!

Thanks for the many reminders!
